Our History
It was during 1865 that Rev G. Fisk, of
the Priory, was helped by friends to plant
a mission church at the Wyche Cutting
behind the shops. This use of strategic
buildings within the area for worship and
witness continued after the Wyche School
was built in the 1880’s. The school had a
designated room created for a chapel
which became licensed for services and
baptisms.
The increase in houses on King Edward
Road and in other parts of the parish gave
impetus to the building of All
Saints. Troyte Griffiths, one of Elgar’s
Enigmas, was the architect. All Saints
was completed in 1903.
This Chapel of Ease was opened under
the oversight of Great Malvern Priory.
After just over 20 years All Saints
became a parish.
In 1987 the parish was united with
St. Peter’s Malvern Wells. However, due
to the close proximity of both churches
and the numbers attending church,
St Peter’s closed in 1994. From that point
on All Saints has become the sole church
for the parish of Malvern Wells & Wyche.
The origin of All Saints was born out of a God
given desire to bring the Good News of His
love, life and forgiveness into the lives of many people. It was the taking of the Good News to where people were that has characterised the development of All Saints and continues to be at the heart of the church’s life. The love of God to family, friends and work colleagues.
